ASUS TUF Gaming M5 mouse review: a characteristic game

ASUS TUF Gaming M5 mouse review: a characteristic game

ASUS, like many other manufacturers of gaming devices and components, allows users to assemble the system and accompanying devices under its own brand. We do not often get mice and keyboards of the company, so it was all the more interesting to try the ASUS TUF Gaming M5.

The mouse has a relatively compact body and classic gaming design. She has a rather large height and bend, so there is a more comfortable claw-like grip. If the palm is not very large, then you can hold the mouse and flat. The location of the additional buttons additionally hints at a claw grip.

There are programmable keys on one side, and a cap is symmetrically located on the other half. Tactile buttons and the surface of the case are different, so make additional switching conveniently. The main buttons are based on Omron switches. The move is short, clear with a slightly muffled click.

The scroll wheel is rubberized with deep transverse notches. Down it scrolls silently, and up with a peculiar crack. This is another detail that allows you to clearly recognize the triggering of sensors.

On the side walls are used coated from structured plastic with good tenacity. The figure is similar to the one we saw in laptops of the same name TUF series. Everything described above is implemented symmetrically, so right-handed and left-handed people can use the mouse. The non-removable 1.8-meter USB cable is not braided.

A logo with RGB-backlight is implemented on the upper part of the case. It is configured using the proprietary program Armory II. In addition to the usual settings for resolution, polling frequency and quick commands, you can synchronize the backlight with other devices using ASUS Aura Sync.

At the base of the mouse there are two small and one large Teflon legs. They are moderately slippery and show themselves well both on the table and on the rug. In the center, the cutout of the Pixart optical sensor is visible.

The mouse has the ability to create three profiles with settings. They are switched by a combination of presses of the DPI change button and two side, as well as wheels.

In terms of use, the device may not be suitable for those who are accustomed to "heavy" rodents. The cover is pleasant and tenacious at the same time, so there will be no problems with clarity of positioning and movements. But the dimensions and shapes need a little getting used to. Thus, ASUS TUF Gaming M5 is a good budget solution in the game portfolio of the company.
